Review : Sony Xperia M2, 4.8 Inch Android KitKat Smartphone

The Sony Xperia M2 is a mid-range Android-based smartphone which is available in two different version, single and dual SIM card. There's no difference between them however if compared to its predecessor, the Xperia M2 has more excellent features. The design of this smartphone just like other Sony's flagship products from Xperia Z series, elegant and classy.


The Xeperia M2 comes with 4.8 inch TFT LCD capacitive multitouch screen with a resolution of 540 x 960 px. Yes, it's 0.8 inch bigger than Xperia M1 series.
The device runs Android 4.3 OS Jelly Bean and it can be upgraded to the latest Android OS, v4.4.2 aka KitKat. The default homescreen consist of 5 different panels and they are fully customized where you can put your favorite widgets, apps shortcuts,change wallpaper or theme etc. You can explore many things in home screen.

This smartphone is powered by 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 Quad Core Processor and equipped with 1GB RAM. You can install many applications in the device because the phone has an internal storage of 8 GB. You can save more datas, videos or photos to external storage up to 32GB of data. For battery life, it's also equipped with 2300mAh Li-Ion battery. This basic hardware will make you feel comfortable and makes every process such as playing games or playing multimedia files running smoothly.


All connectivity features has been included in this phone, you can connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or SIM card, bluetooth and NFC feature also can be found inside it. You can also display photos or playing videos or listening to the musics on other devices via Wi-Fi with its Throw feature which is placed in Walkman App, Album or Movies. Next, you'll find Screen Mirroring where you can display all content in phone screen to TV. Meanwhile Dualshock wireless controller allows you to connect the phone to PS3 controller console.

In terms of camera, this smartphone comes with 8MP rear camera with VGA front facing camera. The camera can help you to record video with a resolution of 1080p. Its main camera has many great features including AutoFocus, LED Flash, Geo-tagging, Panorama, and so forth. You can also choose 7 different mode in the camera such as manual, social live, timeshift burst, AR effect, Picture effect, sweep panorama dan potrait retouch.
